London Harmonicas (or London Harps) is a bi-weekly meet-up for harmonica fans in London. We meet at The Blue Posts, Rupert Street. All standards are welcome. We have regular special guests and workshops.Drop in if you've got a harp tucked away in your sock drawer

Which Harmonica should I buy?Will Greener led the session on Wednesday 29th Feb. Thanks to everyone who came along. Will took the group through ‘Chicken Shack’, culminating with an ensemble version at the end with different parts. This worked well as it suited the different abilities in the room so everyone could join in. Terrific.
Following the performance night I would like to extend thanks to all who performed and attended. we witnessed some amazing harmonica playing (amongst other instruments!) and has really inspired me for one to keep practising! Thanks!

Which Session?
The beginners session is appropriate for absolute beginners and people who have only been playing a short while or just got a harp in the morning. For diatonic players, that is anyone who cannot yet bend a note. Check out you tube players Jason Ricci and Adam Gussow for free lessons to get you started.
Improvers is as it sounds, people who can bend notes, starting to get to grips with the instrument and pros’.

You are going to need a harp if you want to play - to begin buy a 10 hole diatonic harmonica in the key of “C”, we think that Hohner Special 20’s, Hohner Golden Melody, Suzuki Bluesmaster and Lee Oskar are great for beginners and old timers alike. They cost around £25. If the budgets a bit tight Hohner Silver Stars are the only really playable budget harmonica around £8.
